A very Aber kind of day yesterday with a lot going on.     DSC01181

Our MP, Hywel Williams, and Cllr Dafydd Meurig came to see how we are getting on and to hear about any concerns we have, which turned out to be mainly buses and A55. And while they were here they showed their support of our Anafon hydro scheme by buying shares! Twitter has gone mad ever since, with people in Ireland and Scotland wanting to know why their politicians aren’t as supportive!

Then yesterday evening Aziz and Rena and their team provided a Remembrance Supper with bangers and mash and the two biggest trifles we’d ever seen. Music from the 40’s and a slide show of WW1 stills set the mood and Frank had his grandfather’s medals and discharge papers for us to see. It was good to be able to announce that we will soon be able to display Aber’s marble war memorial as well as our framed copy of the Roll of Honour from the Chapel.

£200 was raised, in addition to what is in our Poppy collection boxes.  Tomorrow is Remembrance Day service at the Chapel. 10am and a bilingual service.

We also enjoyed seeing the film of Aber Dabba Doo, reminding us all of what an amazing day it was.

The village is in Showdonia National Park, at junction 13 of the A55. There is free parking at the bottom of the village and paid parking nearer the falls.
