We have been having a busy time in Aber. On the evening of May 16th we had an evening of live music at Yr Hen Felin – professional quality musicians for just £5 a ticket, and our own local talent! 31st May was our popular Open Gardens day with £1000 raised for charity. This past weekend one of Aber’s newest residents provided a wonderful garden party for villagers, early rain soon clearing to provide a sunny day for chatting, enjoying the hog roast, and admiring the view. Sunday was the day of the Aber Hunt Show with villagers turning out in force to admire the dogs (all very well behaved), meet the birds of prey belonging to Andy, our postman, and to marvel at the bale rolling. Aber’s youngest resident was not there – too busy getting christened.

Now we prepare for the Foel Fras Fell Race on June 28th, popular on the fell racing calendar, and are being organised into teams of marshalls and other helpers, something we are always happy to do – the runners are so impressive.

The big day on our calendar in the Autumn is 13th September, when we launch the share issue of our exciting community hydro scheme, Anafon Hydro. Lots of things will be happening to keep everyone entertained. News of our celebrity guests will follow soon.
