History

The Aber Valley has a history going back at least 4,000 years. In Tŷ Pwmp, at the  bottom of the village, you will find displays explaining some of that history.

Abergwyngregyn has been the site of early industry and of the court of royal princes.   For hundreds of years people have lived and worked here, and do still.

From October 2010 to February 2011 the middle of the village was the site of an archaeological dig looking for evidence of where the “llys” or court of the Princes of Gwynedd may have been.
